Paolo D’Alessio divides his interests between the world of cars and that of industrial design. He was born in the province of Turin in 1957 and in 1978 he began to collaborate with specialized publications, dedicating his attention to the technical evolution of racing cars. Soon his articles and especially his technical drawings (“cutaways”) were published in the main specialized magazines all over the world.

In 45 years of activity he has produced thousands of technical drawings of the most significant Formula 1 cars. Not only that: he is the only person in the world to have drawn the “cutaways” of all the Formula 1 Ferraris, from 1948 to 2023, and of the most important Formula 1 cars, from 1950 to 2023.

In 1983, after graduating in architecture, he began to share his passion for motorsport with industrial design, putting his name to watches, bicycles, means of transport, helmets, eyewear, bags, writing objects, visual displays, tractors, lawnmowers, furniture accessories, lamps and packaging.

Starting from 1989 he widened his professional activity to the study of corporate image for sponsors of the calibre of Martini & Rossi, Momo and Philip Morris, and for important car manufacturers such as Abarth, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Honda, Porsche, Renault and Subaru. At the beginning of the new millennium he also extended his professional interests to the organization of international exhibitions, actively collaborating with the Turin Automobile Museum and the Louwman Museum in the Netherlands.

In 2022, with Andrea Levy, he created Autolook and the Autolook Awards, an unprecedented event dedicated to image and communication in the world of motorsport. An international event which attracted over 200,000 people to the center of Turin.
